This course provides the foundation training necessary for a massage therapist to be professional and skilled for work in a spa environment or in private practice. Students will learn the history and benefits of massage as well as body mechanics and self care for a lasting career in massage. Students receive hands on massage practice using an integrated Swedish style massage with focus on assessing clients, quality of touch and movement with intention. Upon completion of this course, students will have the tools necessary to give a 60 minute therapeutic massage, with guidelines for body mechanics awareness. This course is the foundation fro all of our massage programs. It can be taken for personal growth as a non- certifying program.

TOTAL HOURS.....................................100 hrs
Written exam: multiple choice, matching questions, and some written answers pertaining to
information covered during the course.
Practical Exam: Students will do a one hour test massage on a volunteer chosen by the instructor.

*Timing- Complete full body massage in 1 hour
*Sensitivity - adjust pressure and speed according to client.
*Confidence - smoothness and transition
*Promptness- being on time and grounded
*Hygiene- clean and neat
*Professionalism - focus and rapport
*Technique- Body Mechanics & Draping
