This is a friendly introduction class to Anatomy & Physiology of the human body specifically designed for massage therapists. You will enhance your palpation skills and learn to apply appropriate techniques, with more confidence from a better understanding of the body. This course will be taught in a fun yet informative way with hands on demonstrations. Emphasis will be on the muscular and skeletal systems. Also covered will be fascia, lymphatic, cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine and nervous systems. We will address the effects, indications and contraindications of massage on those systems.

Deep Tissue is in hot demand these days. Over half of our clients at Bamboo Garden Spa request Deep Tissue work, so much so that we require all our therapists at the spa to do Deep Tissue. Learn this new style of Deep Tissue that incorporates a different mind set than past conventional styles that had the �no pain, no gain� theory and actually caused muscles to tighten. Discover the use of advanced techniques to access the deeper layers of muscles, allowing for greater improvements with less work. Thai massage is an excellent modality to help with client's lacking flexibility and to bring balance into one's body. You will learn the northern style of Thai massage, which is usually performed on a floor pad, with the client wearing loose comfortable clothing. I teach a routine of a one hour session for increased flexibility, energy flow, and sense of well being. Thai Massage can also be modified and incorporated into regular massage sessions. We will also cover working muscles while stretching and principles of eastern philosophy for a greater understanding of seeing the body as a whole.

During this class we will further explore the sen lines (similar to Shiatsu meridians). We will also cover side lying techniques, belly work, and refresh on basic moves which we expand to more advanced techniques. We will play with yogassage style (Thai yoga blend) and practice the East West Massage for an 80 minute blend of both worlds. Upon completion of this course therapists should have a broader knowledge of Thai massage allowing for greater flexibility for each client and modifications for clients with limitations.

This two day class will introduce you to Warm Stone Massage. You will learn hands on how to give a 80 minute warm stone massage for a safe and relaxing treatment without overexertion. The techniques taught in this series of three classes will focus on teaching non-invasive techniques and the infusion of concepts for effective work that inspires therapists and clients alike. You will learn a fusion of Cranial Sacral, Lymphatic, Zero Balancing, and Visceral techniques, along with the integration of structural systems. We will work towards feeling with the awareness of what is happening under your hands; Bringing fluid movement to the horizontal and vertical fascia of the body as you learn to resolve entrapments. It becomes a natural evolution to see an increase in repeat clients and client referrals with the use and understanding of this work.
With the knowledge provided in this first class you will be able to assist clients with relief of migraines; neck tightness / pain; digestive issues; sleep issues; and overall vitality. The second class assists in post surgery of knees and hips, balancing posture of the pelvis through psoas and lower back work, and issues of the feet such as plantar fasciitis. The third class works to bring both levels together, solidifying the concepts and techniques, for usable work day to day.
