Eastern Theories (in the works)

This class will have a heavy focus on Meridians- Chinese/Japanese, systems, elements and the basic difference in eastern schools of thought- Shiatsu, Acupressure, Thai, Tui Na(Chinese).  From this class a person will leave with a better understanding of meridians which will allow for greater application in all eastern styles.  Ayuvedic doshas and chakras (India) may be covered in this class or as part of a separate class.


Thai Massage 1- Awakening the Chi

Prerequisite: none Course Length: 40 hours / Maximum Students: 8
Dates:  Nov 7- 11, 2010 (Sunday - Thursday 9am-6pm)

Thai massage is an excellent modality to help with client's lacking flexibility and to bring balance into one's body. You will learn the northern style of Thai massage, which is usually performed on a floor pad, with the client wearing loose comfortable clothing. I teach a routine of a one hour session for increased flexibility, energy flow, and sense of well being. Thai Massage can also be modified and incorporated into regular massage sessions. We will also cover working muscles while stretching and principles of eastern philosophy for a greater understanding of seeing the body as a whole.

* NOTE: Bring- 1 sheet set, 1 pillow and wear comfortable clothing for giving and receiving.


Advanced Thai Massage- Side lying and Beyond

Prerequisite: Thai Massage 1 / Course Length: 32 hours / Maximum Students: 8

SPECIAL SESSION for previous Thai 1 students

Dates: Nov 14-17, 2010 (Sunday - Wednesday 9am-6pm)
COURSE FEES:  $540.00 ($100 deposit) / Prepay:  6 weeks $515

 During this class we will further explore the sen lines (similar to Shiatsu meridians). We will also cover side lying techniques, belly work, and refresh on basic moves which we expand to more advanced techniques.  We will play with yogassage style (Thai yoga blend) and practice the East West Massage for an 80 minute blend of both worlds.  Upon completion of this course therapists should have a broader knowledge of Thai massage allowing for greater flexibility for each client and modifications for clients with limitations.

* NOTE: Bring- 1 flat sheet, 1 pillow and wear comfortable clothing for giving and receiving.


Introduction to Tui Na

Prerequisite: 100 hours / Course Length: 16 hours / Maximum Students : 16
Dates: October 2 & 3, 2010  ( Saturday & Sunday 9am - 6pm)
COURSE FEES: 
$275 / Prepay: 6 weeks $250 (early reg. receives $25 off)

This class will teach you elegant and effective techniques to open the joints, improve ROM, and stimulate the body's vitality.  Tui Na is a Chinese massage similar to Acupressure and Thai table massage.  The focus of this class is to learn how to apply basic Tui Na techniques to work muscles, tendons, and joints for greater mobility and movement.  This conceptual class shows techniques that can be applied to any area of the body for uses from sports application, specific complaints to general tune-ups. 

**Payment is due in full upon registration with a strict 3 week registration cutoff.  Payment is non refundable and non transferable.


(Deposit of $50 for classes 24 hours or less and $100 for more than 24 hours is required to hold your space, unless otherwise noted)
